United Nations Staff

It is sometimes possible to find UN staff willing to speak via video conference by asking UN agencies.

Retired UN staff might be willing to speak. To find them you could try visiting the Association of Former International Civil Servants (AAFI-AFICS) at https://anciens-bit-ilo.org/en/relations-with-aafi-afics/ or

AAFI-AFICS is the biggest association of former international officials, with more than 3,500 members living in 95 different countries.

The World Health Organisation, for example, has an Association of Former Staff at https://www.who.int/about/former-staff

Amnesty International

Amnesty International UK fights for human rights, including those of refugees and migrants. Its home website https://www.amnesty.org.uk/ lists the wide range of its current interests.

It has groups including local, student and youth. It also has specialist networks and projects.
Use the local page https://www.amnesty.org.uk/groups/local to search for a group near you with whom you can work. Or use the Networks page https://www.amnesty.org.uk/groups/networks to find a network or project with which you might run an event.

University of the Third Age (U3A)

Some UNA branches have worked with local U3A groups to run joint events, deliver presentations, include items in the U3A group newsletter and so on.

It has pages showing online interest groups such as Countdown to COP

You can click on a letter of the alphabet to find groups in your area, and the names of people running these groups plus a contact page to send them a message if you wish to work with them.
